What is the RMWD/Flume program?
Customers of the Rainbow Municipal Water District (RMWD) are eligible to get the FlumePRO Smart Water System for just $49 per year—which includes use of the Flume Home Water Sensor with special features and benefits.
FlumePRO enables you to monitor your home’s water usage in real time via your smartphone. It will also detect existing or future leaks (both indoors and outdoors). Installation is easy. The sensor straps around your existing water meter—no plumber or pipe cutting needed.
With FlumePRO you save money, conserve water and gain peace of mind.

How much will this cost?
The regular retail price of the Flume Water Sensor alone is $199. However, as an RMWD customer, your cost for FlumePRO is just $49/year. If your system ever has an issue, Flume will replace it free of charge.
The $49 annual fee will be paid when you order your FlumePRO system. After that, you will be automatically charged $49 each subsequent year. You are not obligated to continue your subscription beyond the first year. However, if you cancel your subscription, you will no longer have access to our full equipment replacement warranty.
How does Flume Work?
When water flows through your water meter, a magnetic disc spins inside of the meter. The rate at which this disc spins correlates directly to a water flow rate.
The Flume Water Sensor simply straps onto your existing meter and measures this magnetic field to a tested accuracy of 99.9%.
The Flume Bridge plugs into a power outlet and connects to your WiFi network. It receives the signal from the Flume Home Water Sensor and sends this data securely into the cloud.
The FlumePRO App runs on your iOS or Android smartphone and accesses your real-time water usage data from the cloud. It shows usage in real time right down to the minute, notifies you of existing leaks, and sends you alerts when abnormal usage is detected.
Can I install it myself?
Yes! Most people can install our product in less than 20 minutes. You do not need to cut any pipes, and no plumber is required. The FlumePRO app walks you through the entire installation step-by-step.

Are there any special requirements?
Before you order your FlumePRO Smart Water System, please make sure that you meet both of the requirements below:
Your home must have a wireless network (WiFi). You must also know your WiFi password.
You must have an iOS (Apple) or Android device.
My water meter is pretty far from my house. Will the Flume device still work?
Flume has been be installed on meters that are 1000 feet away from the home. We use a 915 MHz RF signal to send data from the Water Sensor to the Bridge. This signal can travel long distances using very low power. However, if your meter pit has a heavy metal lid, this distance may be reduced substantially. What if FlumePRO notifies me of a leak?
Many of our customers discover leaks within the first few hours of using our device. Even though our device lets you know about a leak, it cannot tell you where it is. Here is an article that provides some helpful tips on how to identify the source of your leak.
Who will be able to view my water usage data?
Flume will NOT be sharing data with the RMWD. Your privacy is of utmost importance to RMWD. If you want to share data with the RMWD, you can do so, but RMWD will not be storing or using data from the FlumePRO Smart Water System.
